Scalability setup and question
-
Hi Alexandre,
We’re considering using this plugin in our agency, which has several hundred clients. The only thing that matters to us is synchronising the password, email and a few meta fields of our custom “Site owner” user role from client sites to our main agency website. That way they can log in to our agency portal using the same password and email as they use on their own website.
We don’t need logins / logouts to be synchronised.
I’d like to get a better understanding of how the plugin works… Am I correct in assuming that for this setup, a connecton would only be made between sites when a user updates their email/password/meta? In which case, am I correct in assuming there won’t be any extra delays during logins / logouts and the load on our agency site should be pretty minimal (since people don’t change their login details often)?
And therefore, am I correct in assuming this setup could scale to hundreds, even thousands of connected sites? Provided too many people don’t modify their credentials at once of course, but that seems unlikely…
Or is there some other bottleneck I’m not considering?
Thanks!
