sc_embed_player_template1 shortcode simply doesn't work

Plugin works out of the box. But using the shortcode “sc_embed_player_template1” displays the player but the mp3 won’t play in it.
I’ve experimented on three wordpress installs on two different servers. Ah well, on to the next audio plugin. I’m on a timeline and have to get this done.
