• Updated to the Sequel 1.0.2 today, broke most of my site. Realized you fixed the glitch where all pages were featured instead of just the ones with the featured tag, since I didn’t add the featured tag, they disappear.

However, the one issue I can’t seem to make go away is the fact that right below my grid on my home page it says “NOTHING FOUND Ready to publish your first post? Get Started Here!” As if I don’t have posts already in the grid above.

You can view this error at

Please help, my client will not be happy at the ugly stain on her brand new website.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

    Hello Andrew,

The new version now has a new option to split the blog feed in to a top grid format followed by the standard feed format – what you are seeing is the top grid format with the two posts and nothing in the standard format.

You still have the options to disable the top grid and display the entire blog feed in either the grid format or the standard format. This is in addition to the above aforementioned option of splinting the blog feed.

Please take a look at Appearance >> Customize >> TwentyFourteen Home Options for the various settings that you can adjust. For instance if you check the “Disable Home Top Grid” then you’ll find that those two posts will display in the standard format section. There’s a little note in that tab explaining what happens with the settings.

If I can ask, in total how many posts do you have as live?

Let me know if the above helps or not,

Is there an option to only have the top grid format? I saw the option to hide the top grid, but that’s what I want to highlight. The posts themselves won’t be posted very often and only the most recent ones will need to be highlighted. We have just the two “featured posts” right now, to answer your question.

Also, I just double checked, and posted a test post that was not tagged with “featured” and nothing shows up underneath the Top grid. Turning off the top grid makes all the posts disappear. So it seems that part is broken somehow. I am out of time to try to work this out for now, but I hope we can figure out what the issue is sometime soon.

Checking the box to turn the top grid off and then select the “Grid Layout” for the blog feed will return all blog feed posts in a grid.

Does that also not work for you?

Doing that makes all of the posts disappear. Not sure what’s causing it, none of the settings are set weird.

Do the posts show up in the blog feed when the settings are “Disable Home Top Grid” checked and blog feed layout set to default?

How many live posts in total do you have and how many of those are marked as Sticky if any?

When I disable home top grid, and select default layout, all of the posts disappear and do not reappear. It’s as if somehow after the update, the theme forgot where to look for the posts themselves. I added a test post to the lot, so three posts total now, one with no added tags, just a plain post. Two of them are tagged with featured, but otherwise are standard posts.

    That’s very odd!
