I’m having the same problems as those from this earlier support thread which was closed despite numerous people having issues that were unresolved.

I installed the plugin and activated it, but when I went to use it I got an error of “You do not have sufficient permissions to manage plugins on this blog.”

Like the others, I am the one and only user of the blog, and obviously the admin, so I’m not sure what is causing it to declare I don’t have permission.

Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.

OK, I figured out what the problem was for me:

I am using All-in-One WP Security. On their Settings page they have an area where you can “Disable All Firewall Settings” in the event that you think it is conflicting with another plugin. After I did this, Multi Plugin Installer was again accessible.

Oddly, I then went back into All-in-One WP Security and re-enabled the Firewall settings one at a time (each time checking to see if Multi Plugin Installer was still working) and I have now re-enabled ALL of the firewall settings but the problem with accessing Multi Plugin is no longer happening…?

What was particularly frustrating (and obviously no fault of Multi Plugin Installer) is that I had gone through and deactivated my plugins to try to find the problem, but that did not work. Even with All-in-One WP Security DEACTIVATED (which claims to clear all security rules in the .htaccess file when the plugin got deactivated..), I still couldn’t access Multi Plugin Installer. It took reactivating Security and then Deactivating the Firewall from w/in the Security plugin. Still have no idea why it wasn’t working because, as previously stated, I reenabled the firewall and am still no longer having problems with permissions to manage plugins. Not going to claim to understand that, but am happy to be able to have my firewall fully on AND be able to use Multi Plugin Installer…
