• Hi,

I wanted to see if there is a way to save files via the standard Google Drive interface (web, or local folder on computer) and have them show up in the Google Drive WP Media interface in WordPress. I see where I can upload files via WordPress and they should show up in my shared files area of my external Google Drive, but I was wanting to do the opposite – save the files into a Google Drive folder and have them accessible in WordPress.

    Thank you,

    -Rhett

    1. login to https://drive.google.com/?authuser=0#shared-with-me.
    2. select folder that has been created by this plugin, click “Add to My Drive”.
    3. Now the folder has been included into “My Drive” and you have an access to insert existing files into this folder.

to insert or move existing files

    1. click “My Drive”, and you will see your existing files/folders including folder from “Shared with Me” that you have been added before.
    2. select files (not folder) and then click “More” to show the dropdown menu, click “Move to”.
    3. select folder from “Shared with Me” that you have been added before, click “Move”

I do not see the any of the GDWPM folders when I log in with the account I used to set up the API project. Does the API/service account not have it’s own Google drive account? Not sure how I log in as the service account and share folders. The API is successfully created and I am able to add folders and upload content within WordPress.

    Are you sure?
folders should be listed in “Shared with Me” view.

no, this API/service account just like someone that share with you and all of the files and folders that have been shared with you will be listed in “Shared with Me”.

I am sure. There are no folders at all listed in “Shared with Me”. I set up the API/service account using a Google Apps account. I wonder if this could be part of the issue.

Is there a way to log in as the service account, like a normal user?

the “Google Email” is an email address of your google drive account

I think, there’s nothing way to do that

I started a new thread as I’m having the same problem. there is nothing in shared with me that relates to this connection.
