Gravity forms does not create an entry until submission. Doing so would require a complete hijack of the Gravity Forms system. Also I just fixed the outstanding issues from the last author and this is the way it was being done then. GravityForms is supposedly working on this type of system and may do it that way.

Its absolutely possible to save as lead but you are correct that the entry must be valid an submitted first.

I have rewritten the plugin to save as lead instead. I only store the entry ID in wp options. I’ll submit a new plugin with a different name giving you (and previous author) credit.

Skype or Facebook me, same username/url. I have added you to the plugin so we can keep it in one place.

Thanks for the confidence. The thing is, I’m moving in another direction with the new plugin. Just like you mentioned, the data cannot be saved as a lead before it’s submitted. This means that it does not work as a “save and continue” plugin, rather a frontend edit plugin.

Due to saving as a lead I had to remove some of the functionality from the original plugin. Also, I have some other features planned for the future, like the possibility to connect forms together so that a form can be dependent on another form, etc.
