Save & Publish wont work + Comments won’t be marked Spam

    I have developed this problem out of nowhere 2-3 weeks back and no it wasn’t immediately after I updated to 4.6.1. Two major symptoms:

    1) Unable to mark comments as spam. It says its marked spam and Undo however if you refresh the page the comment is still there its gone nowhere. To workaround this though I can go to comments panel and select all and bulk move as spam and this works just fine.

    2) Unable to Save & Publish theme customization. This is not specific to one theme – this is common throughout. I have disabled all my plugins in fact, I have deleted all of its content, renamed the folder and probably done all that I could with memory allocation related issues. Whatever is out there on the web I have tried.

    Kind of stumped with this one here. Need help on this!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    However, I have gone through forums and a ton of googling over the past 2 weeks and done every single step you mentioned. 1-2-3-4 in that order or different, as mentioned above is done. No luck. I’ve been using wordpress for a while now so although not a pro, I know my way around. This is so frustrating.
