• Why oh why does WP not have a save & close button for posts and pages etc.? Joomla has it & it makes like a lot easier.

It does, you can save as draft if you haven’t published it yet, or update if it’s already published.

If that’s not what you’re looking for, would you please explain in more detail?

When editing a post, for example, you can only click update. What I think would be great is if there was a button to click that updates (saves) and then closes the editing of that post and returns to the previous page (i.e. the list of posts page or what ever page you were on before opening an item to edit it). I hope this makes sense.

Ah, ok, WordPress has behaved this way since the beginning. When you edit a post/page and hit the Update button, you stay on that post/page.

I believe the genesis of that decision was that at the time, most folks were editing in increments, saving as they went, so they didn’t want to be sent away from the editing screen on each save.

What Joomla has is a Save Button (essentially an update button) and also a Save & Close button. If WP could have the same it would be awesome.

Yep, I’m sure some people could find use for that.

yes far better productivity if you could remove the additional page load by adding an “Update” and back to Pages list.
