sanitize Types custom fields

Hey!

I have various custom fields using the Types plugin. These include URLs, images, text fields, text areas, email, and dropdown boxes. I am wondering how I could sanitize these custom fields. I believe I know the right functions to use but I am unsure as to where I should be using the sanitation functions.

I hope I have been clear as to what my problem is.
