I am having problems with Sandbox testing of PayPal on my site and have tried numerous things without being able to get it working. I have enabled sandbox testing and entered my credentials manually. I have done so several times to make sure I’m using the correct information and after saving, no errors show on the dashboard. It says I’m connected.

On the checkout page, the PayPal buttons wont load and is instead showing a spinning/loading icon that never goes away.

I looked at the web console on the checkout page and saw a js error printed out. It’s a bit long and not sure if it should be posted here, but it starts with: “Uncaught Error: Bootstrap Error for buttons: Expected opener to be present”

My theme uses elementor but not for the checkout page. I disabled the Elementor plugin anyways and redid tried the checkout page again, but to no avail.

I’m out of ideas and starting to think it might not be my setup/website that there’s something wrong with but something else. Would appreciate some guidance on this.

    Thanks.

Appears it’s my theme causing the issue. I activated default storefront and it works. I guess I’ll have to take it up with the theme developer.

    Hello @sunrosea

thank you for updating us about your findings. Yes, the theme is a very possibly cause for this issue. Our plugin uses JavaScript to replace the default WooCommerce “Order now” button with our PayPal button, and in some cases the JavaScript is blocked by the theme (or other plugins).

You described action is the best way forward, maybe there is an element of the theme that you remove in order for this to work, but that would be up to the theme developer to advise you on.

Let us know if there is anything we can do to help you further. I will mark this thread as resolved, but I will still receive the notifications in case you update this thread.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

I’d like to say that after I deactivated the theme I’m using and then activated it again it worked as it should. So something in deactivating it I guess reset it. I guess that’s something for people that might have similar issues: try deactivation and re-activating the theme and see if it works.

@joostvandevijver thanks for letting me know about the javascript button replacement. That’s good to know for the future.
