    Somebody please check out the GitHub downloads for sample bulk product upload spreasdheet at https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/tree/master/sample-data

    Most importantly: no way to open CSV in any meaningful way in LibreOffice Calc
    No way to import XML into LibreOffice Calc

    This is likely to make people swipe left and try a different cart. Why you do this?

    My solution:

    Go here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/product-csv-importer-exporter/

    Then click through to here: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/wiki/Product-CSV-Import-Schema#csv-columns-and-formatting

    Then make your own CSV based on that (not done it yet).

    Predicted response (please, don’t bother replying if it’s the following):
    – You use LibreOffice? Use Lotus 1-2-3 silly!
    – Update your LibreOffice!
    – You are rude therefore l will not answer you but l do actually know the answer

    Still, 2 questions remain:

    – HOW DO I MAKE WOOCOMMERCE SHOW RECENTLY UPLOADED PRODUCTS?
    (l see the column for featured products. But l also want RECENT products. Not even sure if any template supports that, but it’s needed. You know, for marketing? To sell the things to the people?)

    – IS THE SKU FIELD GOING TO BE VISIBLE TO PUBLIC?
    Disappoint me now. Y’all gone and made it visible to the public for no good reason haven’t you? So now l can’t write private notes in the SKU i.e. date of original product creation so that l can see when to start discounting.

  • The CSV opens in Calc perfectly ok for me…

    For product sorting do you mean in the front end – ie: display latest products first? If so, then it’s in the Appearance – Customise – WooCommerce – Product Catalogue – Default Product Sorting

    The SKU is a product code – why are you writing notes in it??

    Hi there,

    For me the CSV doesn’t open, may l ask what your Calc settings are for opening the CSV, you know, when it gives you a dialogue with checkboxes?

    Maybe l have some overhang with settings from a previous CSV l messed around with.

    As for SKU, there is the option to make it private with at least one other shopping cart. Also, my question again: is it going to be visible?

    Reason: whatever reason ?? in fact l explained in OP. Don’t worry, l know what l am doing.

    Where else am l gonna write this info that l put in SKU?
