    Hello,

Nice plugin! On your website you press ‘click to tweet’ and the twitter box pops open in the same screen. However on my blog when you press ‘click to tweet’ it takes the user to another tab. OK, the same information is being displayed on both blogs but it’s not as smooth on mine it creates ‘friction’. How do I get it to open in the same window?.

    Thanks

    Hi @focusedallday and @simonwordpressorg

Apologies for the slow turnaround here! What website are you referring to that it is working in the same window?

Version 4.4 (way back in 2015) of Better Click To Tweet had the functionality you are looking for, but I had a concerned user reach out about security concerns with the method I was using to have it open in a modal popup, and so I removed that functionality in version 4.6.1 relatively shortly thereafter.

There may be away to do that, but I am not likely to introduce it as a functionality of the core plugin, since it’s not often requested and I am loathe to go back on a security fix.

    Thanks!

Following up here: I heard from the Twitter team that they removed the modal popup functionality from their API, so it’s not possible to do any longer.

    Thanks!
