Same Upload issue as thousands of other post

  • This issue has been around for YEARS as I read the logs, lots of try this and try that, but no actual fix that works. This is the Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/20xx/xx. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

    It just seems that with so many users having this exact issue, what is there no fix identified and posted? I think WordPress can be a great web building tool, but for this issue to be around for so many years and not be address yet (that I can find) does not give me a whole lot of trust in the program.

    Has anyone figured this out yet, beyond the try to chmod the permissions which I have done over and over as well as complete deletion and re-installs and upgrades to 3.8.1

  • I think this depends upon the individual server’s configuration. Have you spoken to your about hosts about this? Perhaps there is something at their end that they could change?
