    Hi,

I have with One User Avatar the same problem as with ProfilePress and WP User Avatar : when Authors try to upload their avatar, they get the following error message : “You don’t have permission to attach files to this post“. Only authors have this issue. Everything works fine for Admins, Editors, Contributors, and Subscribers.

If I grant Authors the “edit_others_posts” capability, there’s no problem. But this is obviously not a solution.

I’m not using any other avatar related plugin.

However, Authors can first upload their avatar to the media library and then pick it from the Profile page.

I’m wondering why Authors do have this problem. I have had a quick look at the code and I confirm that Authors have all the capabilities checked in function wpua_is_author_or_above().

    Thanks in advance.

I have tested this scenario on a clean install with just the plugin activated and I couldn’t reproduce the issue. However, this behavior could be caused by another plugin that is enqueueing the media uploader on the same page. To prevent this, I have added an option to always use the browser file uploader to upload avatars. If you update the plugin you should see the new option under Avatars -> Settings. When checked, the avatar upload shortcode should use the file uploader instead of the WP media uploader and the error should no longer appear.

    Thanks very much,

    This fixes the problem.
