Same post slug on different days

  • Hey,

    I have a blog and I want the same post slug for a post that’s on a different day. My permalinks are /year/month/day/slug so it won’t conflict.

    I tried just giving it the same slug in the editor but it automatically changes it to slug-2. After manually editing it in the database it works now and doesn’t conflict.

    How can I force this behaviour without having to manually edit the database ?

  • I have the same problem. Same slug in different categories.
    /%category%/%postname%/

    so I have:
    domain.com/some-category/01
    domain.com/some-category/02

    and I want to have on top of that:
    domain.com/some-other-category/01
    domain.com/some-other-category/02

    it does not conflict, however WP does not allow this without manually editing the DB.

    please advise
