• I cannot use the tinymce advanced plugin as it is conflicting with another plugin I need.

    But will someone please tell me how to stop the WordPress TinyMCE from stripping out <p> tags. It seems to do it when the <p> tags are around an <img> tag.

    This is like the ugly stepchild of WordPress. Such a beautiful piece of software and a junk editor.

    I changed the wp-tinymce.php file to not use the .gz js file. and then I went through the entire wp-tinymce.js file trying to figure out where the visual editor was stripping out the <p> tags.

    I would like to solve this once and for all.

    Could someone please help me.

    I got it.

    I could not enable the tinymce advanced plugin, but I just called the replace script using the following in my functions.php file:

    if ( ! function_exists('tmce_init') ) {
    	function tmce_init() {
    		/*global $wp_scripts;
    		$tadv_options = get_option('tadv_options', array());

    		if ( ! isset($tadv_options['fix_autop']) || $tadv_options['fix_autop'] != 1 )
    			return;

    		$queue = $wp_scripts->queue;
    		if ( is_array($queue) && in_array( 'editor', $queue, true ) )*/
    			wp_enqueue_script( 'tadv_replace', WP_PLUGIN_URL . '/tinymce-advanced/js/tadv_replace.js', array('editor'), '20080425' );
    	}
    }
    add_action( 'admin_enqueue_scripts', 'tmce_init', 25 );
