Same image multiple posts

    I have been reading and think I got it but want confirmation and perhaps an alternative.

    I have an image attached to post. If I want to use that image again with another post, the image is linked to the first post, right. If I change the “alt”, then it changes it from image 1, and now all the info links to the second post that is using it right?

    So, what is the alternative. If I am using the image 8 times, do I have to upload it 8 times with different names or is there some other way?
