• Hi. Not sure if WP allows this.

I want my link structure to be like this. WP is installed in the root folder of the domain:

    1. https://mysite.com/magazine/ (main posts page)
    2. https://mysite.com/magazine/sports/ (category)
    3. https://mysite.com/magazine/sports/tennis/ (subcategory)
    4. https://mysite.com/magazine/sports/tennis/nadal-number-1-again (an actual post)

Where “magazine” is the collection of all posts, “sports” is a category, “tennis” is a subcategory, and there’s the post about Nadal.

How should I set up the permalinks for this?

If I put my permalink structure as “/magazine/%category%/%postname%/”, and categoru slug as “magazine”, then #2-4 work, but 1 doesn’t.

I even tried creating a page template called “magazine” which would serve as the container for all posts, but that doesn’t work either. Also, it seems that the slug name for category cannot be the same as the permalink for posts.

    How does one resolve this?

    Thanks!
