    Dear Admin

We have a store at georgia state and we would like to collect the salestax for the sale we receive from georgia state users only

We have set store location with our store address and state as georgia state.

But when a sale comes from other than georgia state, the site collecting tax for those states also.

We have updated tax for “Standard rates” with salestax percentage

Are we missing anything? Please help us in this regd.

As we are the website maintenance people, due to NDA with the client we are not disclosed the website address.

Kindly help us. Thanks in advance

    Regards

    Hi Stefen,

Just to make sure, you mentioned the following:

But when a sale comes from other than georgia state, the site collecting tax for those states also.

Did you configure tax rates for those other states as well? If so, then you’d need to remove those otherwise WooCommerce will charge tax for those states as well ??

    Hi Sir

The standard rates section have only 922 zip codes of GA state.

No other state zip code was there.

Let me know if i am missing or wrongly selected any option.

    Regards

    Hi Stefen,

It’s hard to perhaps figure out without being able to test ourselves on the live site. But as Riaan was saying it comes from the tax rates entered into your tax classes.

Double check all of those classes to make sure there aren’t any rogue rates, and also double check all of your rates to be set correctly. Especially since you mentioned you have 922 zip codes setup there.

Also, looking at the orders coming from other states is their billing or shipping address still perhaps in Georgia? Just curious about that part, even though your tax settings use your shop base address.

    Hi Ryanr

Thanks for the update. Great point. We will check both shipping and billing address too.

Does it have a chance to collect tax if any one of the address related to georgia? i mean either billing or shipping?

    Thanks in advance.

    Howdy Stefen,

This is what is causing this:

You will want to set that to be based on the shipping address.

    Hi Stefen,

Did you have any luck here getting things checked and set as you need?
