Sales Tax not being added during check out

  • When I add a product on my shopping cart, sales tax is not being calculated and added onto the final cost. It defaults to $0.00. I have my Store Settings configured as follows:

    Enable Tax:
    Turn tax on

    Product Prices:
    Product prices are tax exclusive – add tax to the price during checkout

    Product Specific Tax:
    Add per product tax to tax percentage if product has a specific tax rate

    Tax Logic:
    Apply tax when Billing and Shipping Region is the same as Tax Rate.
    Apply tax to Billing Address

    Is there a fix for this?

    Same setting as yours.

    No, this issue wasn’t resolved yet. I’m still waiting for a response/fix for this…

    I am experiencing the same problem. On one item, it calculates the tax correctly but 2 others, it does not calculate any tax.

    On my site, tax is charged on product & shipping, for Ohio and Florida only.

    It’s ALWAYS charging tax on shipping, for those two states.
    It should ALWAYS charge tax on products for those two states too. Some products it does, some products it does not.

    So far, I can’t find any pattern between what works and doesn’t work.
    Whether it’s a variation or not, whether it’s featured or not, whether it tracks stock or not…. no pattern.

    Looking through WP-ADMIN, the fields are the same.

    I’m looking at two products metadata now in the DB through CPANEL to see if I can find any field differences.

    There was a discussion on GitHub about Version 3.9 and the “wpec_taxes_taxable” field having problems – not sure if that’s related to this or not.

    The product that WORKS for me, does not have that data serialized in metadata.

    The product that DOES NOT work for me, does have that data in serialized metadata.

    ITDINO – do you see any difference/pattern between products that work correctly and products that don’t?

    I can’t find any difference between the products. The one that is working correctly has variations. So does one that is not working. The second product has no variations and does not work correctly.

    I am having problems with both the shipping and tax calculations. I have them set but they are just not working. Any solutions yet?

    Same problem with tax calculation. This problem only came to my attention since upgrading to Version 3.9.1, and WP is version version 4.1

    There is now a working patch for the 3.9.1 tax problem:

    I chose to view the whole file and copy/pasted it over the original.
