    Hi,
I have the same problem like discribed in an older Topic (which should have been solved after update to 1.7!?

I switched from WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Gateway to WooCommerce PayPal Payments. Using my digital test-product:

    https://testshop.golfball-uhu.de/produkt/test-produkt/

From the product single page + cart page….I′m getting forwarded to Paypal….I login…go through the paypal process…get back to my shop to check and finally pay….but I′m not getting into the already prefilled checkout (like I get with WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Gateway)…I′m getting in the normal checout which IS NOT prefilled….that′s not correct!

Also…after realising….that Paypal Express did not work I′m stock to Paypal….can′t use any other payment method of my shop….they seem to be blocked away. Even if I clear the cart and put other products into…going to checkout the only payment method is Paypal…all I see is the pay now button from my shop but NOT the paypal button.

Any suggestions? This seems to be a bug!?

    Regards

    Hello @golfball-uhu

Thank you for reaching out to us, we are here to help.

You may want to perform a full conflict test to rule out eventual issues with the theme or a different plugin. We recommend temporarily activating the default theme Storefront and disabling all other plugins except for WooCommerce and PayPal Payments to see if the behavior persists.

Here’s a guide that explains the steps in more detail: How to test for conflicts

Please let us know how this works out for you.

    Kind regards
    Andreas

It works perfectly with the old Plugin “WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Gateway”!?

    Hello @golfball-uhu

it could be that you overlooked one piece of information on the checkout page. Under the “Place Order” button that you see during the Express checkout process, you will see the text + button “You are currently paying with PayPal Title. If you want to cancel this process, please click here.”. Only by clicking on this, you will cancel the express checkout, and you can choose another payment method instead of PayPal.

If this is not the situation in your instance, we would like to test the express checkout process on your site, but will need the site to be changed to sandbox mode, or you need to create a staging site for us to test on.

If there are any details that you don’t want to share on this public forum, you can also reach out to us directly via these instruction.

Actually I don′t get what you mean?

I′m talking about the Paypal Express Checkout from Single Product Site + Cart Site….these two are using Express Checkout.

The Checkout Site itself should use the normal Checkout….normal Paypal process.

Which somehow works…but after finalizing the normal Paypal Cechkout process there′s no customer information on the checkout/order-received/ site….which should also not be the case?

The site I′ve posted here is a staging (test) site.

    https://testshop.golfball-uhu.de/

But the Paypal connection is in Live-Mode…so if you not finish the checkout nothing should happen to your money….otherwise I need to activate Sandbox.

    Hello @golfball-uhu

The problem here is that I do not have access to live PayPal accounts to test, and this behavior only shows when you can log in with an account. The express checkout feature, pulls details from the PayPal account in order for the customer not to have to fill them in on the checkout page. Following this logic, I could understand that some details might not be shown on the checkout page. However, I have not seen all customer details being hidden, so I would like to check this in sandbox mode if that is possible for you.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

ok…Sandbox-Mode is activated….in my case I′m getting back as well to normal checkout…but this time the fields are getting all the info they need.

“WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Gateway” a special Checkout for Paypal Express was created.

So all the customer needs to do is check the date + agree to general terms and conditions…and push button “Pay”.

    Hello @golfball-uhu

yes, that should happen in “best scenario” situation, but that can only happen when it can retrieve the details from the PayPal account and that is not always the situation. So when the plugin does not receive these details, it won’t be able to display them and still ask for them on the checkout page.

I checked your checkout while using the sandbox accounts and to me everything seems to work as expected.

    Hello @golfball-uhu

as informed in the service desk engagement: what you are experiencing is the correct behavior of our plugin. There are some slight different behaviors between the old and our plugin, but the overall options should be the same.

I will mark this thread as resolved.

    Kind regards,
    Joost
