Safe to upgrade – the plugin was built into my theme!

I did some custom development for a local advertising agency. The theme that they chose had this plugin built into the theme. At one point we had multiple developers doing changes on 5 separate instances. When we merged out code and databases, we ended up having a hosed admin (backend) due to bloated OptionTree media posts. I nervously updated the plugin folder that was built into the theme, based on the authors comments to other uses having issues. I was SO SO HAPPY when the upgrade worked AND it automatically fixed the bloat in the database!
