  • index.php is redundant but I’ve been told that can happen in the permalink on a Windows Based webserver.

    I’d try to remove the index.php by selecting the ‘post name’ or ‘day and name’ setting to see if that rids you of that ‘index.php’. For SEO purposes I’d avoid the plain permalinks.

    I see you’re on Bluehost and it looks like there’s an Nginx reverse proxy out front so do clear that proxy if you are able to correct the permalink.

    The only time I use plain permalinks is to force reset permalinks when I’m having issues with getting settings right. And I then set to ‘day and name’ immediately. Always set then save… and save each change.

    I decided to take a chance and changed it to back to postname. It works and nothing seems broken.
