• Despite many layers of security and being fully updated my VPS was hacked/brute forced which resulted in changed usernames for all WordPress sites. Two of them are WooCommerce installs and also all customer usernames were changed as well.

I’ve already created new logins for the admins and shop managers and deleted the hacked accounts. But we also have a lot of customers who have registered an account and their usernames are all changed too. So none of them are able to login now.

They are able to change their password but will noticed the changed/hacked username when changing their passwords.

What I would like to do is to change the client usernames within phpmyadmin which should be possible. I’m only wondering if that’s safe to do without loosing any order data and causing any troubles when the customers are trying to login to the shop/account area.
