Safari cannot connect to server

Hi everyone,
This is my 1,000 time I try to download WP on a laptop. My intention is to have WP on my localhost to do my tests and once I’m ready, get my hosting and launch.
I have tried on Windows and I got “error 404 in port 80”. I tried on Mac and I got “Safari cannot connect to server”. I tried Xamp but unsuccessful, I tried Mamp but unsuccessful. I followed step by step all the tutorials I have seen but I got the same errors again and again (and again, and again, and again…)
Honestly, I have no idea what’s wrong or what I have to do to have my WP working. Can anyone please help me to have my WP working on my Mac?
