S2Member Roles Not Receiving Badges

    We’re using BadgeOS on a site where users can sign up using S2Member.

    S2Member creates its own WordPress roles (S2Member_Level1, S2Member_Level2, etc) and assigns these roles to people who sign up for memberships.

    People with these roles aren’t earning badges automatically (such as a badge earned for the first login). Administrators can assign these users badges manually, however, and if we switch one of the S2Member users to a default WordPress role (such as Author), they do earn badges normally.

    Is this a bug with BadgeOS or with S2Member?

    Sorry for the brief delay in response to this. That’s an interesting issue and I can’t imagine we limit it purposely, but I wonder if there’s somewhere in the code that checks for roles somehow, or BadgeOS simply isn’t recognizing them at all.

    I want to share this one with one of our developers and get his thoughts, and also possibly test it out on our own to see if we can recreate. Hopefully I can get something for you early this week.

    So far, the only achievement setups I can see and have trouble with are the login step and the comment step. Login step issues I could definitely see given the nature of s2Member. I wager they take over a lot of stuff with regards to that and the hooks we rely on probably don’t get accessed.

    Comments are a bit more confusing as to why, but I’ll need to keep checking on that one.

    Just wanted to give you a quick update again.
