    ok, I got the plugin to send notifications of posts. I do get notifications of new users, but they do not receive the email template that they had been signed up to my blog. Is it in the auto-subscribe section of the settings that needs to change? I tried automatic, display and no.

    plugins: Akismet, and Subscribe2 6.3 HTML.
    WordPress version:3.1.2

    The only thing I can think of is that the Akismet plugin is blocking the confirmations.

    @brainjured,

    How many times has this happened? Have the people who signed up checked in the spam / junk mail folders?

    It won’t be anything to do with Akismet as that plugin does not filter outgoing emails.

    Only the email with username and password get sent to their inbox. I don’t know how long it’s been. I just tried it myself just to see if I had other problems.

    @brainjured,

    If the user gets and email with a user name and password and you also
    get a notification that there is a new registered user they will not
    get an email from Subscribe2.

    Those emails are for Public Subscribers but these users are Registered
    Subscribers. The latter manage their subscriptions at the
    Users->Subscriptions menu.

    Public Subscribers can opt in or out at any time but it’s a double opt
    system. They take action on your site and then get an email with a
    link to click to confirm they really want to subscribe.

    From what you are describing everything is working as expected.

    I thought it was just fail safe to all subscribers to decrease on ghost subscribers.

    I used both my widget on my blog and the register to my blog on my site. They both send a password to their email. I think it’s a setting I didn’t select. Could it be my ‘anyone can register option in the general settings of wordpress?

    @brainjured,

    If you de-select the ‘anyone can register’ option in the general settings then people who visit your site will not be able to register as Users in WordPress. This may knock on meaning they cannot makes comments depending on other settings.

    I say again though, everything in Subscribe2 is working as it should.

    (@brainjured)

    What would I need to do in order to get that email?

    @brainjured,

    Amended code in the plugin. But it wouldn’t just be the email, the handling of the link being clicked would also need code. It’s not a simple change and is completely unneccessary for the plugin to function.

    (@brainjured)

    I’m sorry, I meant the subscribe/unsubscribe confirmation.

    @brainjured,

    I’m not sure I know what you are asking.

    If you as admin want a copy of the email that is sent to individual subscribers; this is not possible in the current code – again a hack would be needed.

    If you, as an end user want that email, just enter an email address in the form on your site and hit the subscribe button.

    If you mean you want this email sent to people who ‘register’ via WordPress rather than using the Subscribe2 form to just enter their email – again, not possible without a hack to the code.
