S2 moving over to new site / URL

    Now that the list is transferred from old to new site, the site owner (Scott) sent out one last mailing from the old site, alerting people to the upcoming change to a new site. That last mailing, though, came from the admin email address instead of his… even though his was (still) listed as the From: email address in S2. How can that happen? None of the settings were changed on the old when attempting to export to the new.

    Since that happened, the site owners are now hesitant to send a first mailing off the new site — the From: address is the same as the old site’s settings, but that clearly didn’t matter on last week’s mailing.

    Please advise — if you would like wp-admin access to see if you can spot an issue, please let me know.

    And, to confirm, sending to that (old) site’s list from the (new) site’s URL in S2 won’t throw any mailservers for a loop and/or create spam-check issues for Scott?

    How did the site owner send that email from the old site? A blog post or did he use the Susbcribe2 > Send Email page? I that latter it would have sent from the email address of the current logged in user account.

    If you’ve migrate everything and the new site is operational without any back links to the old site – all should work fine.

    Hi @mattyrob, thanks for the reply — here’s their response when I asked “How?”

    Scott just posted a blog as he always does, but for some reason it came from me rather than him. Hopefully it won’t happen again on the new site!

    Any thoughts?

    Not really, if they did everything as normal then it should have come from the correct email – provided:
    All settings were unchanged
    All plugins were unchanged
    The theme was the same
