Good Evening,

I am using s2 member and I would like to pass the custom capabilities I assign for a user into either a groups or tags field of mailchimp.

I cant seem to find the field name when populating in the “send additional fields” of the sync. When looking for this field “ws_plugin__s2member_profile_s2member_ccaps” I cant seem to get them to connect and push the contents of the field to mailchimp.

The custom capabilities is this instance is used to control which pages the user can see while logged into the site, but I want to pass that information on to mailchimp so I can segment out the list and send users appropriate e-mails for the

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

The fields that can found in our plugin settings are the once setup as user meta in WordPress. For any other fields that are not setup this way, you will have to use custom code.

I would suggest an example code at https://github.com/ibericode/mc4wp-snippets/blob/master/add-ons/user-sync/buddypress-xprofile-field.php and then modifying it for your requirements.

Hi Just to further from this comment thread. I am having the same problem but am not a coder. I would have no idea how to use or modify custom code or where to put it for that matter. Is there an easier way to do this? Or is this something you can add into your next update?

Hi Marc,

Thanks so much for the super quick reply. I really appreciate it. I am not actually using s2member however. I have another plugin wp symposium that acts as the membership site. I have got wordpress to mailchimp and user synch (Add on) and they work great to go into the mailing list but just not into the individual group within the list. Do you think this plugin would still work or is it specifically for s2member?

It is setup for s2member.

You could have it all go to one list and then segment out instead of using groups in mailchimp. Possibly?

Hi Marc,

Thanks for coming back to me, again, very quick. Ok great re s2member. And yes I could do that, but that has to be done manually which defeats the point of automating it in the first place. That’s why I want to be able to segment it as they sign up.

If I am not mistaken, MailChimp will realtime segment.

HI Marc,

Yes exactly that. I’ve got that set up, one list several segments or groups. Getting people automatically into those segments is the challenge! ??
