    I’m trying to add Russian characters to a blog.

    I don’t want to install the all Russian version of WP, though I’m sure it’s great, because English speakers need to be able to cut and paste into the WP backend, so words like Write and Manage still need to be in English.

    Looking at the WP.ru site, they’ve encoded in utf-8. When I do so, I get a bunch of mumbo-jumbo.

    Have a peep here: https://dew.clicknathan.com/

    Update: I got it to work by adding: windows-1251 directly into my header.php file – it didn’t seem to work at first but after a few refrehes, some fancy ctrl+z action, and a little Stephen Colbert, it worked.

    To clarify, I changed the charset setting from

    charset=”utf-8″

    to

    charset=”windows-1251″

    I’d received a couple of emails about this as my update above is less than concise.
