Running WordPress installation script returns 500 internal server error
-
I am installing WordPress for the first time in a subdirectory on the root of my website. I have attempted to follow the detailed instructions in “installing WordPress”, however my hosts version of phpMyAdmin does not match the description of the instructions.
My host created a my SQL database, my username, and my password. I can log into phpMyAdmin however there is no privileges tab, link, or screen. I’ve changed nothing.
I have edited the wp-config.php file accordingly.
I renamed the wordpress directory to my own blog name, and FTPed the entire structure into the root of my website using FileZilla.
When I tried to run the WordPress installation script https://example.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php with my website’s domain name in place of “example” and my WordPress subdirectory name in place of “blog” using Internet Explorer 8, I receive the error message “500 – Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.”
Please advise.
