Running two podcasts off one soundcloud account with powerpress categories?

  • Hi all.

    Currently running one podcast out of powerpress and off a soundcloud account (www.ollielovell.com/errrpodcast) . I had in mind that I’d want to run another podcast off the same blog so I made sure I ran this first podcast, ERRR podcast, through a category with powerpress.

    I initially thought that I’d need to sign up to another soundcloud account to set up my next podcast, but I’ve realised that the way that blubrry uses the RSS feed from soundcloud (i.e., I have to manually enter each episode) gives me heaps more control and I have an inkling it could be possible to upload my other podcast to the same soundcloud account and then just use the powerpless plugins with suitable podcast categorisation to send it to a different podcast on stitcher and itunes etc.

    Does anyone have any experience doing this? Am I correct in thinking it’s possible?

    When you own and control your own podcast RSS feeds, as you’re describing above, it matters not where your media files are hosted. There’s no reason you can’t run two podcasts from the same site using either Category Podcasting or Custom Channels and copy/paste the media file URLs for each individual file from your single SoundCloud hosting account. It might muddy up your SoundCloud page a bit, due to how SoundCloud will handle having the two different shows on the same account. But, if you’re OK with that, what you’re trying to do should work fine.
