Run another search if no results were found

How can i run a modified search if relevanssi returned less than $some_amount of posts?
Right now i’m using relevanssi_do_query( $query ) in the results page (archive.php, in this instance)
Should i change the query keywords and run relevanssi_do_query( $query ) again?
