    Hi Dear,

I’ve changed the server on the 5th of May and since then there was an issue with the plugin getting this error message.

The last rules update for the Wordfence Web Application Firewall was unsuccessful. The last successful update check was May 5, 2023 3:14 pm, so this site may be missing new rules added since then. You may wait for the next automatic attempt or try to Manually Update by clicking the “Manually Refresh Rules” button below the Rules list.

    Rule Update Failed
No rules were updated. Please verify you have permissions to write to the /wp-content/wflogs directory.

Please if you can direct to fix this issue asap.

    Thank you

    Alan

Hi @archalan86, thanks for getting in touch.

I’m not certain whether you changed servers and reinstalled WordPress and your plugins from scratch or whether this was a migration, but it’s certainly worth removing the wflogs folder using FTP or your host’s file manager.

You should be able to delete the wflogs folder or its contents entirely at any time and Wordfence should try to repopulate it within 30 minutes.

If you experience regular problems with file permissions, you can bypass this folder entirely by setting Wordfence to write to the MySQLi storage engine instead: https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/mysqli-storage-engine/

Let me know how you get on!
    Peter.

Thank you very much Peter, this got fixed by deleting the whole folder as I was only deleting the wflogs file itself only.

    Have a great time.
