Had issues with supplementary plugin, all solved.

Great plugin, although I would not recommend the RegistrationMagic supplementary plugin. The ProfileGrid support team is amazing, very friendly, patient and supportive.

Hello ciprianaleme (@ciprianaleme),
There appears to be a misunderstanding. We have NOT changed profile builder to RegistrationMagic. RegistrationMagic integration is purely optional and there were no changes to it during recent updates.
The issues you faced are likely due to some other reason. Our support team will love to help you fix them. Please let us know after which update you experienced these issues. Any other details you could add will be very helpful.
Hello,
RegistrationMagic is mandatory if I want to customize my forms, which is mostly the case. I had created great forms with the previous optional service you had, and they simply disappeared. This new one slows down the website and access, for example, takes minutes instead of seconds. I do not understand why we must download an additional plug in to customize forms.
I eventually switched to another, more resourceful, plugin.
Thanks anyway for the reply.Hello ciprianaleme (@ciprianaleme),
RegistrationMagic is not required to customize ProfileGrid forms. It is complementary plugin and has its own separate area in WordPress dashboard to edit forms.
The ProfileGrid in-built form editor has always been part of the ProfileGrid package and it is still an essential part of it. You are free to choose your form editor between the two using options provided inside ProfileGrid Group Settings.
Since forms data is stored inside the database, it is highly likely your forms can be recovered even if they are not visible in dashboard. We respect your choice to move to another plugin, but if you need our help to restore ProfileGrid data, we will be more than happy to help.
Our roadmap is full of exciting new launches in coming weeks and we recently launched many new shortcodes for extra customization. We would love to see you back!
Hi, thanks for the answers. I tried to reinstall the plugin, but WordPress would continuously claim it was already installed although it no longer appeared in the plugin list. I removed it from the registry and, because of that, have probably lost the forms forever.
It would help, though, if you could tell me how to create my own custom forms using only ProfileGrid, with no complementary plugins. I saw a notice in the plugin that said something about ProfileGrid having its own forms, but custom forms could be created using the complementary plugin, which is why I installed one in both cases, before the first one disappeared.
Hello ciprianaleme (@ciprianaleme),
I apologize the delay in response due to weekend. Yes, it is quite straightforward to build signup forms using only ProfileGrid. Each form has to created inside a group and form fields will automatically serve as profile fields for the users in that group. With that in mind:
Inside your dashboard go to -> ProfileGrid
You will see Group Manager page.
Hover cursor above any group card and two new buttons will appear on the card below.
Settings | Fields
Please keep a note of the Group ID, you will need it later.
Click on Fields
It will open a new page with title Profile Fields Manager
Just below the title there will be two menu items:
New Section | New Field
New Section will add new sections to your forms, while New Field will add Fields within those sections. Sections can be named. For example – Personal Information, Professional Information, etc. You can display these sections on same page or as separate pages on your form. More on this later.
Now click New Field
It will open a popup, with selection of field types. Click on a field type and it will take you to field settings. Each field type will have different settings based on its internal parameters.
You will also have option to hide the field altogether from the signup form. Such fields will be available for editing after user visits his or her profile page on successful signup. Helps you to keep initial forms shorter for quicker signups.
You can also mark a field required in settings.
When done, hit Save button.
Repeat the process for as many fields you like. You can edit, delete or change order of the fields on Profile Fields Manager page.
Once you have finished adding fields, you would want to publish the form on your website. This is done via shortcodes which you can paste inside blog post or page.
There are two types of shortcodes to do that:
1. [profilegrid_register gid=”x”]
2. [profilegrid_register type=”paged” gid=”x”]Where x should be replaced by Group ID of the group inside which you created your form. First shortcode will publish the form on single page. Second shortcode will publish the form on multiple pages with buttons for users to navigate between pages. Multipage will only work if you have more than one sections on your form.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need more information about any step in this process.
Thank you so much for the amazing feedback and help. I managed to recover my old forms and made new ones according to your instructions. I will change my evaluation.
Thanks again. That is so kind of you @ciprianaleme! It lifts spirits of all ProfileGrid team.
Many thanks.
