• I do a lot of editing in Gutenberg for my Bible studies – https://huppbrian.us/notes

As part of the editing process, I frequently cut and paste Hebrew text from https://www.blueletterbible.org into paragraph blocks in Gutenberg. The pasted text is displayed incorrectly (LTR instead of RTL) in the visual editor, however it is rendered correctly on the published or previewed post/page.

In troubleshooting this issue a while back, I noted a strange quirk. If I edited any of the paragraph blocks in the post as HTML, and put in explicit <rtl></rtl> tags around the incorrectly displayed Hebrew text, not only did this correct the rendering issue for that particular block when I switched back to the visual editor, it corrected the rendering for *EVERY* instance of incorrectly rendered Hebrew text in the entire post/page! Please note, however, that I haven’t tested that quirk for a couple of years now.

The issue is really just an annoyance in the visual editor because the posts and pages with the pasted Hebrew text do render properly when published. Still, in your copious free time, you might like to look into it. I suspect it will be a challenging fix.

NOTE – I just realized this may be a Firefox-specific issue. When I edit my post in MS Edge, it renders fine in the visual editor.
