• Hello and thank you for this great plugin!

We are running a community focused site based on BuddyBoss and want members to be able to create their own events and register for them. The integration with the profile page works great for this. However, we don’t really have the need for ticketing (most events are online and free – if there is an event that requires registration, it’s through an external provider). So, the booking feature only adds unnecessary complexity and confusion for users. We’d like to give them the possibility to just indicate whether they are interested / joining an event, without having to get ticket. Is this possible or a feature that could be added?

  • You could try using the #_BOOKINGBUTTON placeholder

#_BOOKINGBUTTON A single button that will appear to logged in users, if they click on it a booking will be made. This button will automatically book the first aailable ticket if more than one ticket exists for the event, and will also circumvent any payment requirements. Use in combination with conditional placeholders such as is_free to avoid unpaid bookings.

You can modify the Single Event page by going to the Formatting tab and enable Super Advanced mode. Then select the Events section then modify then under Events List Format you can update the “Default event list format”.

@joneiseman Thank you, that’s very helpful!

While users still need to fill out information like price and spaces when creating events (btw is there an option to set the default spaces to something higher than 10?), at least the booking button simplifies the process of registering for them.

There is no option to set the default spaces to a value higher than 10. I know you didn’t specifically ask about this but you can simplify the event creation somewhat (when allowing registrations for the event) by going into settings and select “Single Ticket” mode. This will remove the option to add additional tickets. This is in Event > Settings in the Bookings tab in the Ticket Options section.

@joneiseman Thanks, I’ve already got Single Ticket mode enabled!
