  • Pretty cool.
I would like something like this as something I could drop in the sidebar. I would like the option of displaying the dropdown box and links from a pre-defined feed. If you change the dropdown, the page would reload with the new feed.
The thing about magpie is that it’s a bunch of php files. If you put them all in the plugins directory, WP displayes them in the plugins list! You would need to put them in a subdirectory. Then you could build a plugin with a couple of functions that could be used in the index.php to insert a feed and/or dropdown.
    Just a thought.

ringmaster, try out my CG-Feedread Plugin. It’s getting a lot of testing these past few weeks now, works inline in the page or for sidebar, and is based on a small/fast parsing system with caching of page data and output with timed refreshes of the cache. And always open to expanding the features to meet the needs of users! ??

david your plugin rocks man thx!!!

No problem. I actually just updated it, and then my ISP freaking hosed on me again. Should be back up in the next hour, fixes a few issues with ‘weird’ feeds.

Okay, after 3.5h of downtime, CHAITGEAR is back up and running. Definitely grab the latest version of CG-Feedread, as it has some new ‘cleaning’ features that scrub bad characters (curly quotes, etc.) from feeds for use in link titles, etc. Also fixed a number of issues with blank post titles or missing site title/description last night.
