RSS open in new page

Hello, Can anyone tell me what code I need to enable RSS links to open in a new page? And where do I put it?

I tried adding target = blank to the address in the widget itself but that doesn’t work.

I have a child theme and know how to add code to that, but other than that I’m a (nervous!) coding beginner.
