RSS-import does nothing…

  • I’m trying to help a friend migrate from smartlog.dk to WP. So, she’s got all of her posts and comments exported in to one big RSS-file (smartlog can only export as RSS). Then we go to WP and try to import it. It very quickly says “All done” and gives no errors – and it has done absolutely nothing – NOTHING has been imported…

    Any idea how to fix this?

    I got the same problems…
    I even dont know how to make all the post into one single txt file.

    Are you downloading the xml file to your local computer and then browsing to it? If you try to just enter the url to the file on the web, nothing will happen. Download the file to your local computer – browse to it, and then click “import.”

    Is your RSS file a 2.0 version? Or older?

    A simple RSS file should look like this when you open it in a text editor.

    <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”windows-1252″ ?>
    <rss version=”2.0″ >
    <channel>
    <title>Your website</title>
    <link>https://www.YourSite.com</link&gt;
    <language>en-us</language>
    <description>My site is about Foo</description>
