• I’ve noticed that my RSS feeds stopped to work. I’ve tried everything, I upgraded to the latest version of WordPress, I’ve disabled all plugins, I’ve switched to the default (ugly) theme – nothing helps, WordPress still keeps on adding a couple of blank lines at the begininning on the XML in the feeds thus rending them unusable.

I’ve tried different hacks and plugins that supposedly cure this problem (this, and this and this too) but nothing helps. Most of this advice is usually more than one year old anyway.

Please help, because I’m running out of ideas how to bring my RSS feeds back to life and abandoning WordPress is a bit hard for me having 6 years of posts in my blog…

  • Have you tried disabling all of your plugins? Doesnt seem unreasonable that one of them would be inserting these spaces.

Do the spaces ONLY show up on feeds, or do they show up above the html of your main site as well?

Yes, as I’ve mentioned above I disabled all plugins – no effect. But you’re right, the two blank lines also show above the HTML on the main page.

OK, I’ve found it – two blank lines at the bottom of the php file of one of the plugins. It is interesting that disabling that plugin didn’t cause the problem to disappear.
