    Hey guys,

Since I updated my WordPress install, the other day:
On my dashboard, inside the plug-in widget, that displays avaiable WordPress plug-ins, I keep getting error messages –

    Here is the latest message:

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 30670848) (tried to allocate 23462 bytes) in /homepages/35/d215599516/htdocs/hyperblogcafe/wordpress/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 881

Try increasing the memory available to PHP:

    Thanks for that, esmi.

My host told me that I am limited in memory, due to my package, but, I still tried these 3 things from that post:

    1. Deactivated all my plugins.

    2. In the php.ini file I changed the one line to 256M.

    3. At the bottom of my wp-config.php file, I added this line:
    define(’WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’)

Then, I reactivated the plugins. For now, it looks good; but, I will need to see what it looks like later on, or tomorrow.

    esmi,
I just spoke to my host, again, and they were able to bump my PHP memory up to 150MB, without any additional charge. Hopefully that will help as well.

    How’s the RSS feed now?

    Still NOT displaying. ??

But, interestingly, my Odiogo Podcasts are being generated again.

    That is a good sign.

The only thing left to try is a fresh install in a new database.

I’m not quite convinced of that, yet, esmi.

For example, ALL of my comment feeds are coming through. I was just viewing them in Feedreader 3.14. So, if they are working, wouldn’t it stand to reason that the Post Feed should as well?

Not if there’s a problem in your database…

If I could some questions I have, in regards to Child Themes, answered, I may just start over. If I do it, I’d like to do it right.

Also, if it is only a database problem, wouldn’t I just need to create a new database, and re-configure the wp-config file?

Then, I could import the current data into the new database, no?

If you copied the current database into a new db (or used a backup file) you could be copying across the error.

Do you have someplace on your site where you sett up a very quick second install of WordPress? In s sub-folder or something?

Sure, I could set one up fairly quickly, with a sub-domain, like https://new.hyperblogcafe.com

It might be an interesting exercise to set up a new install on the same server and import the content of your current site into the new one via Tools -> Export/Import to see if the RSS feed works.

I could try that, esmi. Assuming it works, do you think you would be able to help me with a ‘few questions’ in regards to Child Themes?

    Thank you
