• Hi! I’ve previously been using a plugin to display relevant news via rss on a large number of pages on my site but due to crashes when the plugin isn’t working due to invalid feeds I want to go through each page replacing the plugin widget with the wordpress default rss widget. However I can’t get it to work; I’ve tried feeds that i’ve confirmed as valid starting both http and https, and then i’ve tried putting those feeds through feedburner and using that feed address but still nothing is displaying. I’ve tried activating and deactivating the previous rss plugin in case that was affecting things but still no luck. Any ideas would be very much appreciated, thank you!

  • Hello,
Can more information about when exactly the plugin issue stopped working.
Have you updated any of the plugins or the installation itself? Any information would be helpful to find out where the problem came from.
What I can advise you is to look for another alternative for you. Here you can see what plugins will do the job you need. I recommend that you try the local environment and then if you are satisfied with the result to continue to your site.

Hi, I’ve been in touch with the developers of the plugin but I want to move away from using unnecessary plugins as I learn more about the capabilities of wordpress itself and my abilities to use it. So I want to use the built in RSS feed display widget.

My installation, PHP environment and plugins are all up to date and this is the first time I’ve used the built in widget.

My site has been built using visual composer. Should I post details of the system environment or site health, would it be of use?

Many thanks for your, and any input.

    Thanks,
    Matt
