RSS feed suddenly not updating

  • Hi,
    My site has been up for a few days and everything seemed fine. Today my RSS feed is not updating. I was previously having a problem with my feed having no images, so I installed a plug-in called Featured Images for RSS feeds. That got my images working but I’m wondering if it might have caused this problem.
    I’m also using a caching plug-in (WP Fastest Cache) and based on some Googling, wondering if a setting in that plug-in could also be causing the problem.
    The only other thing I did since the feed stopped updating was change my media settings (I set the largest image size to 800 x 800 pixels) and then resized all my photos using Regenerate Thumbnails.
    Thanks for any help you can offer- hoping to get this feed updating again!

  • Any time I see the word “suddenly” in a forum post, it generally means one of two things:

    1. You changed something, but forgot that you changed it.
    2. Your host changed something, and you are unaware of it.

    In this case, you remember what you did (yay!). I’ll bet it has a lot to do with that caching plugin. Does it have a feature to empty the server cache? If so, empty it, and then see what happens. This kind of thing is often a caching issue.

    Caching plugins can be tricky to configure, btw. It may take you a bit of experimentation to get just the right combination of settings to make this work.

    Thanks for your reply. Today I had a new issue (“missed schedule post error” – scheduled posts not going out as scheduled) so for now have deactivated the caching plug-in.

    At first i thought this plugin was great it loading posts from one of my sites but only posts that were on my site before installing the plugin.

    Since having the plugin installed when I add new posts, they dont show.

    I have left cache to 0 because if theres no cache data then it shouldnt take long to clear and show updated content.
