• My site is set to publish a new post each day at 5:00am ET, the local time zone in setting is set to New York.

Yet pubdate values in /feed and /fee/atom are wrong. This post is published at the correct time (5:00am on Nov 29)

Yet in the RSS feed the dates are wrong:

There are some old reports and suggestions (yech) to edit core files:

Feed times are always listed in UTC, so that the *reader* can set the timezone difference relevant to them. ??

Yeah, I get that. But a post published on my site at 5:00am EST is 10:00am UTC – the feed says it is 5:00am UTC – the pubdate values are not being adjusted to UTC.

WordPress will be assuming that your server is set to UTC.

At Settings -> General, you’ll see the current UTC time next to the timezone setting. Is that correct current UTC, or is it off by a few hours?
