• Hello,

I have a problem with the rss feed of my site. The feed is created however the validation ist not working (and I can’t use the feed in Feedly etc).

The error i get from W3 Validator is:
line 1, column 6: XML parsing error: <unknown>:1:6: not well-formed (invalid token)

The feed is to be seen here : https://www.stratecta.exchange/feed/

I have tried to deactivate plugins and changed themes, however nothing worked. The feed still can’t be validated (though my site is running on twenty-twenty Theme). Can anyone help?

  • Well, I took a look and the raw feed looked fine to me so I fed it to the w3c validator which returned a 500 error (several times) so I tried another feed and received the same fault (500 again) so I passed it to one of my own feed aggregators just to see and it parsed just fine there.

So I passed it to Heiko Behrens’ feed Sanitizer and received a sanitized version which passed the w3c validator which was accepted but threw a compatibility error. The compatibility error was probably due to a character in a post which the validator should have ignored anyway. If I’m right about that guess then it should be fine.

So here’s that sanitized feed that Feedly will probably accept…
    https://feedcleaner.nick.pro/sanitize?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.stratecta.exchange%2Ffeed%2F&format=rss

I would not depend on that sanitizer as sooner or later it will probably get overrun and quit working but for a while, until you can figure out the problem…

Anyway, let us know if Feedly won’t accept it and maybe someone else can figure the original issue out…

    Hi,
Thank you for your help. Yes the sanitized feed works in Feedly!

As you mentioned in your response it still would be super if the underlying issue could be found.

    Thank you and br
    Georg
