RSS feed not working

  • Hi, my RSS feed is not showing on feed readers such as Feedly

    I’ve run the fix my RSS feed plugin but it’s not worked

    I’m using the standard URL, https://afaranwide.com/feed/

    When I view source in a browser I can see the RSS URL in this form

    Browsers react differently, either saying there’s an error, downloading XML file or not detecting the feed at all

    Any help greatly appreciated

  • You have the RSS feeds set to full text and you’ve also embedded images into your posts (which is fine) so WordPress dutifully creates ‘coffee table book’ sized posts and includes them in a RSS feed that then chokes most of the feed parsers out there.

    My advice would be to go to Dashboard –> Settings –> reading and drop down to where it says ‘For each article in a feed, show… and the two choices are ‘Full text’ or ‘Summary’.

    Choosing Summary sends a small section of the post with a read more button to direct the reader back to your website which is what you really should want.

    This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and switch to the default Twenty Nineteen theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.
