The provided feed URL’s aren’t populating properly. The linked example has a half dozen articles in that category, but none of them are showing up in the rss feed.

Similarly, the description says the feed will pull in the 30 most recently edited articles for each category, but the rss feed for our site as a whole only has 10 articles in it.

Is there a reason so few of our articles would be getting used?

  • Hi Refuelcreativeadam,

It looks like you might be using a plugin that maniulates the url structure by removing the ‘category’ part of the url. That tends to cause issues with GN Publisher.

No worries though, there is an alternate url you can use for the feeds:

    https://ntindependent.com.au/?category_name=darwin-turf-club&feed=gn

Just switch out the category_name= for the category you are setting the feed up for.

I’ll be adding in a note about this issue in the next update.

The 30/10 is a documentation error. I’ll fix that too. Google News does cache articles and they remain in the publication even after they fall off the feed. Once the ping feature was added, it was no longer necessary to load up 30 articles ??

Let me know if you have any further issues,

    Chris

I’m having the same problem, the feed is empty. I have enabled the option to hide the “category” suffix but if for example I type: https://www.xxxxxxxxx.com/category/full/feed/gn
    instead of
    https://www.xxxxxxxxx.com/full/feed/gn
    is not working.
The last line I read is:
<!– last GN Pub feeds fetch (not specifically this feed): 2021-09-24 10:20:43 –>
    then nothing
    How could I solve? Thanks

    Hi Davives,

Have you tried the solution posted above –

    xxxxxxxxxxxx.com/?category_name=CategoryName&feed=gn

(replacing CategoryName with the name of the category)

    or for all articles:

    xxxxxxxxxxxx.com/?feed=gn
