• Hi,

My rss feed doesn’t have good descriptions like those I placed in the meta description tag. My site contain only pages, not posts, so I created the feed with an online tool called “SpecificFeeds” – and I also tried with a plugin.

Either way descriptions don’t appear properly.

How do I fix this please?

    Thanks

RSS feeds really aren’t intended for content marketing like that, they’re only intended so that folks can receive a live digest of your posts via a feed reader like https://www.rssowl.org/ or https://newsblur.com/

In short, only humans will make use of your RSS feed, and they will only use it to follow your new posts.

I submitted it to Flipboard and they’ll use it to display a list of my blog posts… each post will contain a title, image and a description. So the description has to be decent, it will be seen by everyone.

It will only be seen by people who subscribe to it in Flipboard, and they won’t subscribe to it if it’s just 1 static piece of content.

In short, you’re asking to do something incredibly complicated, for which there are no plugins, to address a situation that simply does not exist.

My feed contains all pages of my site (articles), not just 1 piece of content, was there a misunderstanding?

No, I understand that, but your feed won’t be updated with new content, right?

If not, folks won’t subscribe, or at least they won’t stay subscribed, there’s just no point.

I recommend trying out https://newsblur.com (it’s free) so that you can understand more about why people use RSS.

If you truly still want to purse your course, you will need custom development work. For that, use https://jobs.wordpress.net/ and do not accept any hire or direct access offers posted to these forums.

ok, yes I post new articles on site, so the rss feed will load new stuff…

I’ll take a look, thanks for the links!
