RSS Feed: How long should it take?

    How long should it take when starting a new WP blog for the RSS feed to be available? I’ve been told that my feed is operative yet Google doesn’t find it when I attempt to add it to MyGoogle blog reader. I’m not talking about Google indexing the feed but I guess I thought that if it’s up, Google should be able to locate it and allow me to add it to my list. Thanks.
